Root Cause Analysis Specialist/Engineer

Tasks


  1. Conduct comprehensive root cause analyses for heavy equipment and machinery-related incidents, failures, and operational issues.
  2. Utilize specialized knowledge of heavy equipment and machinery systems to identify underlying reasons for failures, downtime, and safety incidents.
  3. Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to collect relevant data, conduct investigations, and analyze trends to determine root causes accurately.
  4. Develop and implement methodologies, procedures, and best practices for conducting root cause analyses specific to heavy equipment and machinery.
  5. Generate detailed reports and presentations outlining root cause findings, contributing factors, and recommendations for preventive and corrective actions.
  6. Work closely with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and vendors to understand equipment design, performance specifications, and maintenance requirements.
  7. Facilitate cross-functional meetings, workshops, and training sessions to promote awareness of root cause analysis principles and foster a culture of proactive problem-solving.
  8. Collaborate with reliability engineering teams to integrate root cause analysis findings into asset management strategies and predictive maintenance programs.
  9. Have to analysis the financial impact related to failure & submit the reports accordingly.
Requirements


  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  2. Extensive experience in heavy equipment and machinery operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting, preferably in industries such as mining, construction, or manufacturing.
  3. Strong understanding of heavy equipment systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  4. Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies and techniques, such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  5. Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools, data acquisition systems, and predictive maintenance technologies used in heavy equipment monitoring and analysis.
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop innovative solutions.
  7. Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including operators, technicians, engineers, and management.
  8. Certification in reliability engineering, asset management, or related disciplines is a plus.
  9. Familiarity with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices related to heavy equipment and machinery operations.
